Transitional Home Sponsorships - Former Street Boys
These former street children are unique children in the transitional period who require extra attention and love. Each of these children are treated on an individual basis and each child has a unique situation. Boys who are in the transitional home are truly in a transitional period so the expenses surrounding these boys will vary depending on the child. Please contact me at [email protected] for further details on how to support these children on a monthly bases. Thank you for your heart and love to stand in the gab 'for the least of these'.
Ramathan one of the boys currently rehabilitated at Ssenge transitional home comes from Mbale in suburb called Namakwekwe in a slum area known as Kiteso just similar to Kisenyi. He stayed with his mother and step dad in a one roomed, mud house. Coming from the slum, he and other boys would wonder Mbale town collecting bottles and scrap and eventually he ended up on the street. Some street boys encouraged him to come to Kampala to make more money.
Ramathan started attending African Hearts Slum outreach program and was eventually taken to Ssenge rehabilitation home in February 2014.
He has made three visits to his family and the reconciliation process is moving on well.
We are how hoping to take him to school so that he can the business man he is desiring to be.

Okoth Martin 15years old was referred to Ssenge home by government through the probation officer for temporally custody. Information has it that Martin was leaving
with his Aunt who passed on and he was left homeless at police. With no known relative, Martin was referred to Kiwologoma Orphanage Centre which was later closed by government due to poor services. Martin together with other children was where taken to another NGO called St. Noah. The rest of the children where all resettled but Martin was later referred to the Probation Officer who referred him to African Hearts.
We were able to visit the police and area where martin lived with his aunt. We
discussed with a director of a small Community Based Organization that referred
Martin to the orphanage and he confirmed the story.
We as African Hearts would like to take on Martin full, take him to school and give him
a future.

(SPONSORED) Frank Junior 13 years old comes from mabila village neighboring Usinde town in Tanzania, mwanza province. He is born to Mr. Baanga Byefula and mum called Janet with other names unknown. Frank has three siblings Gerald, Sofia and Madinah who he says stay with his paternal grandmother on Ishaka Road Mbarara.
Frank was born in a dysfunctional family. The dad was a drunkard and they were very poor. He was not going to school. Tired of the situation at Home, he decided to run to Uganda to look for his grandmother and siblings.
On arrival to Mbarara he failed to locate the place due to language barrier as we knew only Swahili. He proceeded to Kampala and he ended up in Kilimamboga Village while looking for employment.
He met a pastor who told him she was willing to take care of him only if she reports to police and gets permission. Frank was later taken to the Probation officers Office in Wakiso, who referred him to African Hearts.
Efforts to find his grandparent in Mbarara were futile as we are hoping to find funding to support our trip to Tanzania to find his family. Frank is interested in going to school ad he says he wants to become a doctor given the opportunity to study.

Geoffrey used to stay with the Dad and 3 siblings. Geoffrey was in P.5 at Mother Care P/S.
Geoffrey ran away from home in Kireka, Bulenga and went to Bulaga Police Post and reported himself as a child that had been kidnapped so as to get shelter. He was referred to the Probation Officer who latter referred him to African Hearts Transitional Home.
Geoffrey had been given 2,500/= to go an buy source and being hungry from school he bought something to eat with the 500/=. When the dad came back he punished his big brother for a different offense and for fear he ran away because he thought he would be beaten.
