Child Sponsorship. What does this mean?
What Does It Mean to Sponsor a Child through African Hearts?
African Hearts is a ministry founded on the support of others. Without the support and love of people throughout the world, many children would go without basic needs for survival. We are an organization that relies on others to provide the basic needs of childhood education and daily nutrition. By sponsoring a child it is an effective way to reach out and help kids which have suffered a lot in their young lives. It’s an opportunity to extend practical help, friendships, love, and the Gospel to needy kids. There are three core facets to child sponsorship.
1. Finances: We ask that sponsors be faithful in their monthly giving, as the children rely heavily on these donations to provide for their needs daily.
2. Relationship: we encourage sponsors to befriend their child via email letters and small gifts. These small tokens of love can mean the world to your sponsored child. You can contact B4L at anytime to arrange a special gift for your child.
3. Prayer: we encourage sponsors to pray for their sponsored child, for the staff and leaders, and for occasional special needs that arise from time to time.
Your involvement, as a sponsor, has the potential of shifting the course of the life of a young person. Most of these children come from families that are broken and the basic love of a mother and father is absent. Your love and role in their life could encourage them to follow Christ and live a life that benefits the community in which the live and spread the love of Jesus into their homes.
You are welcome to sponsor more than one child, or if you want, you can sponsor a classroom or a home. Individuals, couples, families, churches, schools, and businesses are all welcome to become child sponsors. Thank you for your interests in the lives of the children at African Hearts. May God bless you.
